Oct. 30, 2008Two named to ESPN academic team
PELLA—Central College sophomore Alyssa Brobst (Pella) and junior Jenna Hindman (Swisher, Cedar Rapids Prairie) have been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District women’s soccer squad.
Both were second-team selections on the college division team which includes NCAA Division II and III and NAIA schools.
Brobst, a biology major, carries a perfect 4.0 cumulative grade point average. She is a defender for the Dutch, and scored one goal.
Hindman, an exercise science major, carries a 3.80 GPA. She is a midfielder and was Central’s top scorer with five goals and four assists. The Dutch completed their season Tuesday.
The team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. To be eligible for consideration, a player must be a starter or important reserve and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or better.
