Oct. 13, 2008Kouba earns Iowa Conference honor
PELLA—Central College outside hitter Miranda Kouba (senior, Dubuque, Wahlert HS) is the Iowa Conference volleyball player of the week. Kouba hit .349 for the week with 61 kills and 51 digs in five matches, including three matches against nationally ranked foes at the IIAC-MIAC Border Battle in St. Paul, Minn. last weekend where the Dutch were 1-3. Kouba was named to the all-tournament team, the second time she’s received all-tourney honors this fall. In a five-set victory over Bethel Univ. (Minn.) Kouba had 19 kills and hit .439.
Kouba also led the Dutch to an Iowa Conference sweep of the Univ. of Dubuque Wednesday.
Central travels to Cedar Rapids for a league match at Coe College Tuesday, then departs early Wednesday morning for New York City for four weekend matches in New York and New Jersey.
