Sept. 22, 2008Foote wins league honor
PELLA—Central College senior goalkeeper Greg Foote (Maple Grove, Minn.) has captured Iowa Conference player of the week honors. Foote was named in men’s soccer. After making one save in a 2-1 win at Augustana College (Ill.) Sept. 16, the Dutch goalkeeper posted a shutout in a 1-0 upset victory at No. 14-ranked Wis.-Oshkosh. He made four saves in handing the Titans their first shutout defeat since Nov. 4, 2006, a string of 26 consecutive matches.
Foote previously received the league award Sept. 17, 2007.
Central, 5-3, opens Iowa Conference play against Cornell College Thursday at 4 p.m. at the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex field.
