Rohner returns to Central

PELLA—Nick Rohner has returned to Central College as assistant women’s and men’s tennis coach while Kevin Schalk is the new assistant women’s soccer coach.

Rohner, who will assist coach Bryan Mours, graduated last spring and was a two-time letterwinner on the Dutch men’s tennis squad. He posted a 25-21 career singles mark, including a 14-10 record last year, advancing to the Flight B finals in both singles and doubles at the Iowa Conference tournament.

A Wichita, Kan. native, Rohner attended Kapaun Mount Carmel High School. He was involved in Campus Ministries activities at Central, participating in mission trips to Reynosa, Mexico and St. Louis, Mo. as well as in Katrina hurricane relief projects in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Schalk is a veteran club and college soccer coach, serving the past three years as assistant men’s soccer coach at Wells College (N.Y.). He attended the College of Charleston (S.C.) and has coached at the club level for seven years, with extensive experience as a goalkeepers’ coach. Schalk joins the staff of first-year Central women’s soccer coach Colin Kuchy.
