WAVERLY---Central College's Jordan WIlliams (junior, Pella) fired a 90 but it was a slow start for the Dutch women's golf team at the Wartburg Invitational Saturday.
The Dutch were 14th at 322 in a powerful 14-team field. Competing at the par-72 Centennial Oaks Golf Course, Williams stands tied for 53rd. Eva Downes (sophomore, Woodstock, Ill., Marian Catholic Central HS) is tied for 67th with 94, Nicole Wenstrand (freshman, Essex, Shenandoah HS) is tied for 73rd with 96, Meghan Swella (junior, Yucca Valley, Calif.) is tied for 85th at 108 and Lindsay Ellenson (freshman, Amana, Clear Creek-Amana HS) is 86th at 109.
Nationally rated Gustavus Adolphus (Minn.) leads the tournament with 309 with Illinois Wesleyan second at 318 and St. Thomas (Minn.) next at 322.
