March 14, 2007Men's tennis shut out by Emporia State (Kan.)
EMPORA , KAN. —The Central College men's tennis team was blanked 9-0 by Emporia State (Kan.) Wednesday.
“I think we played a lot better today (than against Washburn (Kan.),” said coach Greg Gilmore. “Now that we've played a couple matches outside we'll be more prepared for the rest of the outdoor season.”
Central is now 7-5 on the season while Emporia State improved to 6-1
The Dutch will host a triangular between Nebraska Wesleyan and Dubuque on Saturday, March 24. Central will face the Prairie Wolves at 9:30 a.m. and the Spartans at 2 p.m. at the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex.
“We've got a tough competitor coming up in Nebraska Wesleyan,“ said Gilmore. “We'll have a hard week of practice and see what we can do.”
