Men's tennis blanked by Washburn (Kan.)

TOPEKA , KAN. —The Central College men's tennis team was shut out by Wasburn (Kan.) 9-0 Tuesday.

“They (Washburn) are a very quality Division II team,” said coach Greg Gilmore. “We certainly would like to have won some matches, but it wasn't a bad showing by any means.”

The Dutch dropped to 7-4 on the season while Washburn stayed perfect at 10-0.

“Making the transition to outdoor courts takes some time,” said Gilmore. “For our first match outdoors and playing against that caliber of competition, I'm pleased with how we did.”

Central returns to action tomorrow, staying in Kansas to take on Emporia State ( Kan. ) at 5:30 p.m.
