March 5, 2007Central's Feddersen wins league honors
PELLA —Central College tennis player Jared Feddersen (junior, Fort Dodge) has been named the Iowa Conference men's tennis player of the week.
Feddersen improved his record to 8-2 in singles play and 6-4 in doubles with two wins apiece at the No. 1 singles and doubles spots on Saturday.
Against Simpson, Feddersen defeated Matt Johnston 6-4, 6-1 and partnered with teammate Luke Boyd (freshman, Fort Dodge) to beat Johnston and Tim Claussen 8-5 in doubles. Later in the day, Feddersen posted a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Wartburg's Mitch Eslick and hooked up again with Boyd for a 9-8 decision over Eslick and Tim Koenen.
Central's men's tennis team is now 7-3 on the season and will travel to Topeka, Kan. on Tuesday, March 13 to take on Washburn University (Kan.).
