Why Central?
I felt like I belonged here when I first visited and one of my friends from high school is going here, so it made the transition from high school to college easier.

You are majoring in Biology because…
I want to go into a pre-med program somewhere.

Who is your favorite professor?
My favorite professor is Dr. B (Dr. Russ Benedict, biology) because, you not only learn in his class, but he makes it fun and entertaining.

What is your favorite Central College memory?
I’m not sure if I can name only one favorite, but one of my favorite days of the week is Wednesday because I have a scary movie night with some of the guys!

What do you love most about being a member of the Central Dutch wrestling team?
We are literally like a family. If someone is struggling with something, whether it’s with life or school, someone is always willing to lend a helping hand.

What is the toughest part about being a wrestler?
It has to be the physical aspect of the sport. There are days where I get up and everything hurts because of the day before. I can remember one day I literally could not move because I was so sore. But you push through it and accept the fact that it is part of the sport, which you learn to love about it.

What is your pre-match ritual?
I always get up and start pacing and listen to country music. It relaxes me and helps me focus.

Choice: up, down or neutral?
Neutral for sure. I love wrestling on my feet, mainly because I feel that is my best position and I feel it gives both wrestlers an equal opportunity to score.

What did it mean to you to be named Most Outstanding Freshman?
It was a great feeling. Coming to Central I did not expect an award like that at all during my freshman year. It really is an honor to be named that!

What is one thing people do not know about head coach Eric Van Kley?
He may seem pretty intimidating when you see him and during practices, but he is one of the easiest guys to go up and talk to about anything.

Who wins in a professional wrestling cage match: you (Italian Stallion) or TJ Peretti (Brofessor-X)?
I think TJ has the upper hand here. He is a little bigger than me and is older.

Who is your favorite wrestler of all time?
Brent Metcalf is my favorite wrestler. He never stops and does not accept losing. He is all around fun to watch wrestle.

Dan Gable once said: “Once you’ve wrestled, everything else in life is easy.” Do you agree with that statement?
I do agree with it. However, it may not actually make it easier, but wrestling teaches you to work through adversity and overcome things that may be hard in life.

What is your favorite activity to do in your free time?
I love being with my friends. I feel relationships are an important part of life.

Who is the one person, past or present, that you’d like to have lunch with?
Will Smith, no doubt. He is by far my favorite actor and I may or may not have a little man crush on him. But really, he seems like a great guy and one I could learn a lot from.

Bucket list (list items that you want to do/accomplish in your life)
I really want to go skydiving, although I may not jump off the plane because I absolutely hate heights. But skydiving is something I wish I could say I have done because not everyone can say they jumped out of an airplane.
