Hometown: Pella, Iowa

High School: Pella

Why Central?
Central was close to home, it gave me a chance to continue my football career, and I would have the opportunity to get a great education.

You are majoring in Elementary Education because…
I have always wanted to be a teacher/coach. Ultimately I would like to get into school administration, and elementary education is a great place to start. I have an emphasis on middle school and I feel like, as middle school teacher, I have the chance to be a role model for students.

Who is your favorite professor and why?
Dr. Diers. She brings a lot of energy and excitement to the classroom. She also has a lot of knowledge and personal experiences within the field and that allows her to make classes enjoyable. I learned a lot in her classes and they really solidified my decision to become a teacher.

What do you love most about being a member of the Central Dutch football team?
The guys. We have a brotherhood that creates a family. There is never a dull moment and there are some funny dudes on the team, which make bus rides, the locker room, and practice unforgettable.

What is the best thing about playing two positions (wide receiver/punter)?
It gives me a chance to be on the field more. And in both cases I have an opportunity to really impact a game.

What is the most common misconception about punters?
That punting is easy and we can’t hit. Ask Taylor Cox. I would drill him every day on Thursday’s if they let me hit.

More exciting: 62-yard punt or 62-yard reception?
That’s tough. A 62-yard punt that lines inside the 5 is pretty sweet, but I would have to say a 62-yard reception that ends in the end zone. Nothing beats celebrating with your teammates.

What is one thing people do not know about offensive coordinator Reid Evans?
He yells “ATTACK” on every single play in practice. To this day I’m not really sure who he is yelling at and why. He is also an avid tweeter. Give him a follow.

What is your favorite activity to do in your free time and why?
Nothing beats some NCAA ’14 or a nice long nap. It is relaxing and enjoyable.

What is your favorite NFL team and why?
The Kansas City Chiefs. I have been a fan since I was born because of my dad. We used to have season tickets, so I have been to a lot of games. Arrowhead is a sweet stadium and a great place to watch a game. We welcome bandwagon fans, too. Hop on!

Who is your favorite NFL player and why?
I would probably say RGIII (quarterback Robert Griffin III, Washington Redskins). The dude can flat out ball and is always swagged out to the max. On top of that he is a great role model.

Should punter Ray Guy be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame?
Absolutely. The Hall of Fame should be made up of the best from each position. Punters have the ability to play huge roles in football games and he did just that. He is getting closer. If kickers are in the Hall of Fame, punters should be too.

Who is the one person, past or present, that you’d like to have lunch with and why?
The late David Forsythe. My grandfather passed away when I was young and I never got the chance to get to know him very well. It would be pretty sweet to have lunch with him and hear what he had to say and hear stories about my dad.
