Why Central?
My sister graduated from Central, so that was a huge influence on my decision. I also was not ready to give up soccer and being at a small liberal arts college such as Central enabled me to continue my love for the game but also allow me to focus on my studies.

You are majoring in Biology/Pre-Dentistry because…
I am majoring in Biology because I love science. I am not the best at chemistry, but my classes have been very challenging and interesting, broadening my future plans. Dentistry is one option I hope to pursue after Central.

Who is your favorite professor and why?
Anya Butt. She makes learning in the classroom fun and creates interesting discussions that lead us to think deeper about certain topics. She is also my advisor, but through her class and my time with her the past three years, she has opened the door to many opportunities I long to pursue in the future.

What is your favorite Central memory?
My favorite Central memory would have to be all the fun traditions we have on the soccer team. This year all the upperclassmen ran around campus trying to find all the freshmen on the team to throw them in the pond. It was hilarious and quite the workout.

Why do you love soccer?
I have been playing soccer for over fifteen years and have grown to love the game. I have made great friends throughout the years and have had some pretty inspirational coaches, as well. I love how fast pace the game is and the internal rewards that come out of playing. At Central I have a family away from home with my sisters on the team.

What do you love most about being a member of the Central Dutch women’s soccer team?
I love my teammates. The memories I have made with them and being a part of the program are memories I will take with me forever. The relationships I have made with the girls go beyond just being teammates, but they are my long lost sisters. We are all crazy and unique in our own ways, bringing a different kind of spunk to the team and making playing worthwhile.

What do you think about the hillside seating project?
Unfortunately I will not be able to play on the field when the seating is finished, but I think it is going to look awesome and make our field the best in the conference. We already have a great field, but seating will help a lot, giving our continually growing crowd a nice view of the game.

You have started games as a defender, midfielder and forward during your career: any chance we will see you line up in goal?
I like to consider myself as our fourth-string keeper because of my mad hand-eye coordination skills. But as much as I would love to start a game at every position, I doubt Coach Kobylinski will let me.  Maybe I can convince him before my career is over.

What is the best part about playing midfield?
As crazy as it sounds, I like to run. Midfield is the position that runs the most. The midfield area also creates many opportunities to open up the field and watch plays unfold. However, the past three seasons I have mostly played center defender and love that position. I love dropping bows before every game and stopping teams from scoring with a solid group of girls.

As one of the top assist scorers on the team, what is more exciting: scoring a goal or assisting on a goal?
Well, I do not score often, if at all, so I feel assisting a goal is personally more exciting. With the assist, you know you opened up an opportunity for your team and contributed to the final outcome of that play.  I wish we counted the assist to the assist like in hockey because those are my favorite plays.

What is your favorite activity to do in your free time and why?
In my free time at school I enjoy going out and spending time with friends or going for a run. Running is very relaxing for me and a great stress reliever. At home I like spending time with my family in my free time because I don’t get to see them often.

What is one thing people do not know about assistant coach Katelin Gannon?
Not many people know this…but she personally knows who let the dogs out…who, who, who, who.

Teammate most likely to score on a bicycle kick and why?
Sunny (Kayla Sunvold). She surprises me, as well as the team, every day with all of her sweet ball moves and is a little burst of energy that would most likely be the one to score on a bicycle kick.

Who is one person, past or present, that you would like to have lunch with and why?
I would love to share a meal with Batman Christian Bale. Batman is my favorite movie and Christian Bale is awesome. The difference between him and an imposter batman is that he doesn’t wear hockey pants… (quote from The Dark Knight). I know how busy his schedule is, so I would love to also have lunch with my sister. She lives in Georgia now, so I rarely see her. She is my best friend and has had great influence in my life.

Bucket list
My dream is to be a contestant on The Price is Right. It is my favorite show of all time and I catch myself yelling at the TV when people make stupid pricing mistakes. I would love to go to the Bob Barker studio in Los Angeles and participate in The Price is Right game show. At some point in my life, I would also like to live on each coast of the country.
