Why Central?
My brother played football and golf here and I came to a lot of his football games when I was younger and just fell in love with Central. Also the rich golfing tradition here really drew me in, I knew we would have the opportunities to compete for national championships and I wanted to be a part of it.

Favorite professor
Coach McMartin. I took Fundamentals and Theories of Football with him last year and it was awesome. I love the game of football and I possibly want to coach someday and he really taught me a lot about the game.

You’re majoring in exercise science because…
I really want to stay around sports and I felt like exercise science would help me do that. I think it would be cool to potentially be able to work with athletes.

Favorite Central memory
Competing at nationals and hanging out with the guys on golf trips and on campus.

Why you love Central golf
Being on the team for these past 3 years I have made lots of good friends and the experiences I’ve had I’ll remember forever.

Best part about competing at the NCAA championships
The experience is awesome. To be able to compete with the best D3 players and teams in the country is a great experience.

One of your favorite Coach Green phrases
“Swing to your target.”

The thing that draws you to Rickie Fowler hats
I like to wear goofy looking stuff now and then so I thought the Puma trucker hat with a little Central c embroidered on it would be pretty sweet. Plus I thought it would go well with my nasty long hair that I had last semester.

The latest you’ve ever stayed up watching golf on TV
The Open Championship every year comes on at 3 or 4 so I usually pull an all nighter to watch it.

Top travel destination, past or future
We had Nationals in North Carolina my sophomore year and I really enjoyed it. It is a really pretty state and I liked golfing there. I’m considering moving out there once I graduate.

Sport you wish you were good at
I just wish I was better than my brother at more sports besides golf. I’m one of the most competitive people ever and my brother is one of those people who is good at about everything. So when I beat him in a game of horse or ping-pong, I make sure that I rub it in.

Teammate most likely to star on reality TV, and the show would be…
David Watson. He would probably be on the Real World because the kid is kinda crazy. I’m looking forward to rooming with him for my last semester next fall. It’s going to be a blast!

Person past or present you’d like to have lunch with
Tiger Woods for sure. I could ask him questions for hours.

All-time favorite country song
Can’t pick one, but George Strait is definitely my all-time favorite country artist.

Must-have snack during a tournament
Always gotta have a snickers.

“I think Bos Landen is…”
Bos Landen is a good test. It’s very tough to get away with poor shots. It’s the kind of course that can be very scoreable if you are hitting it well, but if you aren’t it’s going to be a long day.

What makes the Central golf program successful
We are deep every year. We always have around 8-10 guys that are fighting for the top 5 spots. It is a good problem to have.

Thing that surprised you most about this year’s Masters
I was surprised that the 14 year old Tianlang Guan made the cut. It was pretty amazing to see a kid that age play that well.

How you think Arnold Palmer orders an Arnold Palmer
I think he probably insists on making his own so it’s perfect.

Bucket list
Play the Old Course at St. Andrews, the home of golf.
Play golf with Tiger Woods, Bubba Watson, and Jason Dufner.
