Why Central?
I love the community feel to it. There are so many opportunities to get involved, volunteer, and help others. You also get a face-to-face connection and relationship with everyone you work with. That is exactly what I want to do with my life on a broader spectrum outside of Pella.

Best class you’ve taken and why
Global Sustainability; I learned how we can all do little things to get personally involved in creating big changes to become more sustainable. I also discovered that I am also talented at gardening; another thing to add to the list with all my other many talents. :)

Favorite Central memory
Every mile’s a memory (-Dierks Bentley) and I’ve enjoyed every one of them here...which is roughly over 70 per week :)

You’re majoring in political science and philosophy because
I want to learn how to be a better person and to create a better world for everyone.

Thing you like best about your team
I’m on it.

Why you love long distance running
I have mental problems.

Your favorite TV show
The Sopranos; their family reminds me so much of my own.

Dream job
President of the United World.

What you like best about the track and field coaches
They put up with my “attitude” :)

Artist past or present you’d pick to see in concert
Jon Mendoza, because I enjoy a good laugh/ mad mobs throwing vegetables. But if I wanted to see REAL talent that’s actually GOOD, I’d pick Jack Johnson. :)

Who is tougher – you or your brother Jon, a former member of the Central wrestling team?
That’s like asking who is better looking, more intelligent, most loved, and overall the most amazing person in the world; the answer is obviously me.

The thing that makes the 1,500 such a difficult event
Nothing, everything comes easily to me. I’m a natural born winner.

Person past or present you’d like to have lunch with
Napoleon Bonaparte; I’d finally have someone else with a developed brain to join me at the kiddy sized table.

Best treat at Wendy’s Ice Cream Shoppe in Norwalk
I’d eat anything in sight, but I’d definitely go after the mint chocolate malts first!

Can’t live without…
Me, my family, and chunky peanut butter with honey.

Ritual or habit before a race
1. Eat Chocolate
2. Dance
3. Tell the other runners at the starting line that this race is going to be the quickest 3 minutes of my life

Your funniest teammate and why
They’re all funny… looking :)
