The 2005 Iowa Conference co-coach of the year, Adam Stevens is engineering a quick turnaround in the Central College baseball program, guiding the Dutch to a share of the 2006 Iowa Conference crown, the school's first league baseball title since 1975.

Now in his fifth year, Stevens led the Dutch to three straight 20-win seasons for the first time in school history after inheriting a club that was 12-24 in 2003. Central's 26-14 mark in 2006 was the program's highest win total ever as the Dutch rallied for a share of the league title at 11-5. Central shattered 24 school records during the 2006 campaign.

Adam StevensStevens, 86-74 overall, previously served as an assistant coach at Wabash College (Ind.) for a year, helping the squad post its first winning season in five years. Earlier he was an administrative assistant in the baseball office at Ball State University ( Ind. ) where he received his master's degree in physical education/athletic administration.

A graduate of Morningside College , where he was a four-year starter, Stevens played in 110 consecutive games. He was team captain his senior year. Stevens also served as assistant coach at Sioux City West High School for two years.

TowsendBrandon Townsend
Assistant coach

Brandon Townsend is in his first year as an assistant baseball coach at Central, serving as pitching coach. He spent the 2006-07 year as head pitching coach, recruiting coordinator and junior varsity coach at North Central College ( Ill. ) after a year as pitching coach and assistant recruiting coordinator at North Park College ( Ill. ). He is a 2005 graduate of North Central where he was a two-year team captain. He also has experience as a youth league coach and as a private pitching instructor.

StampShea Stamp
Assistant coach

She Stamp, a 2006 Central graduate, is in his first season as assistant baseball coach.

A four-year letterwinner, Stamp was a two-time first-team all-Iowa Conference selection for the Dutch as an outfielder. Stamp helped lead Central to a share of the 2006 league title. He ranks third on Central's career hits list (157) and set school records for most season walks (26, 2006), career walks (74), career hit by pitch (50) and hits in a doubleheader (7, April 1, 2006). He had a career batting mark of .337 with 19 homers and 100 runs batted in.

Stamp is in his second year as an admission counselor at Central.
