Central's academic honorees

Emilie Hanson was a two-time NCAA Division III women's basketball scoring champion and national player of the year and the CoSIDA Academic All-America women's basketball player of the year
as well in 1994 and 1995.

Catcher Adam Duerfeldt led Central to a share of the 2006 Iowa Conference baseball title, earning league MVP honors as well as CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition and an NCAA postgraduate scholarship. Duerfelt was also named the Duane Schroeder Scholar-Athlet of the Year Award from the Iowa Conference. He received a fellowship in medicinal chemistry at the Univ. of Kansas. His essay "Playing for the Dutch and for a Promise," appeared in the NCAA News.
