Homecoming/Family Weekend is Sept. 19-21. See the Homecoming/Family Weekend brochure, including a registration form, in the summer issue of the Central Bulletin.
All alumni, families and friends are invited to return to campus to enjoy the festivities. Activities are planned for guests of all ages.
We will celebrate reunions for the classes of 1953, 1958 — our 50 year honor class, 1963, 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003 and 2008. Find your reunion chair now.

The Welcome Center is located in the Boat, Moore, Weller Rooms (BMW), on the 2nd floor of the Maytag Student Center. The Maytag Student Center is located at 401 Broadway St.
Please stop by the Welcome Center when you arrive on campus to check in and pick up your registration packets, meal and event tickets, special Central gift and find out who’s coming back!

Saturday Information Centers
11 a.m.-1 p.m. Weller Center west lawn near tailgate lunch. The Weller Center is located at the corner of Independence Street and W. 3rd Street.
1 p.m.-5 p.m. Kuyper Fieldhouse. Kuyper Fieldhouse is located on Independence Street, west of the Weller Center.
Friday, Sept. 19
| 7 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Café at Geisler Library open. Visit Central’s own coffee shop and enjoy a variety of beverages and pastries. The café is located on the ground floor of the Geisler Library. |
| 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Mills Gallery open. |
| 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. | Bookstore open. The Central Bookstore is located on the 1st floor of the Maytag Student Center. |
| 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Campus tours available. Departing from the admission office in Central Hall. |
| 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Classes open. Many of Central’s faculty have opened up their classrooms today for visitors. |
| 10 a.m. | Heritage Day Reception, Chapel courtyard. |
| 11 a.m. | Homecoming Worship Service, Chapel. Join Central Chaplin Joel Brummel and students in this special worship service celebrating Homecoming/Family Weekend 2008. |

| 2:15 p.m. | Remember when?, Maytag, Grand Central Station. Central alumni from a variety of eras share their stories of how life was at Central back in the day! |
| 3:30– 5:45 p.m. | Carlson-Kuyper Field Station tour. Tour leaves from Central Hall at 4:30 p.m. You’ll travel by van to Central’s field station located near Lake Red Rock. Faculty and students will share information about the field station and the work that is done there. Vans return to campus in time for the Lemming Race and barbecue. |
| 6 p.m. | Lemming Race, Peace Mall. A Central tradition since 1977. Come watch the fun (but stay back so you don’t take a swim!) |
| 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. | Alumni & Family Barbecue - Tent between Central Market and Maytag Student Center $ Enjoy casual family dining while meeting and greeting friends and classmates. |
| 6:30 p.m. | Athletic Hall of Honor banquet, by invitation only. |
| 7:30 p.m. | Maytag Student Center will be open for visiting, reconnecting. There’s plenty of space for meeting with classmates and socializing. |
| 8 p.m. | Pep Rally and Homecoming Coronation Kuyper Gymnasium. Alumni, families and friends are invited to cheer on the team and celebrate the coronation! |
Saturday, Sept. 20
| 7 a.m. - 1 p.m. | Café at Geisler open. |
| 8 a.m. - Noon | Mills Gallery open. |
| 8 a.m. | Dutch 5K Fun Run/Walk Central Cross Country Course. $ Come check out Central’s cross country course and enjoy a 5K run/walk. Strollers are discouraged due to the terrain of the course. |
| 8 – 10 a.m. | Pancake Breakfast, under the tent between Maytag and Central Market. Enjoy pancakes and sausage cooked and served by faculty and staff. |
| 9:30 and 10:30 a.m. | Pella tours, leaving from the Central Hall parking lot. Tour Pella in an open wagon and learn about the history of our town. |
| 9 – 11 a.m. | Campus tours, leaving on the hour from Central Hall, Alumni Office. |
| 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Bookstore open. Don't forget your coupon. |
| 9 a.m. - noon | Glass blowing studio open |

Lifelong learning opportunities, various locations. Faculty and staff will lead classes on a variety of topics. Complete schedules will be posted on the Web and available at the Welcome Center. |

| 10 a.m - 11:30 | Family Carnival, Kruidinier and VSC lawn. Bring the kids for some fun games and prizes! Please note the time and location change! |

| 11 a.m. | Athletic hall of honor plaque unveiling ceremony, Schipper Fitness Center. Celebrate and witness the unveiling of plaques for Central’s newest hall of honor inductees. |
| 11 a.m. | Tailgate Under the Big Tent Corner of Independence and W. 3rd. $ |
| 1 p.m. | Football — Central vs. Wartburg Schipper Stadium. $ |
| Post-game | Reception for athletic hall of honor inductees under the tent north of Kuyper. Stop by after the game to greet and congratulate our new athletic hall of honor honorees. |
| 5 p.m. | Class reunion pictures and reception, Kuyper Fieldhouse. Class reunion pictures begin with the Class of 1953, followed by 1958, 1963, 1968… through 2008. The pictures will be taken at the east end of the fieldhouse. Allow approximately 5 minutes or less for each group shot. |
| 5 p.m. | Pizza, movies and more, Kuyper Athletic Complex. $ Bring your child(ren) (ages 1–14) to this supervised alternative to the HC/FW dinner. They’ll enjoy pizza, pop, movies, games and crafts. Drop off anytime before dinner and pick up when the dinner is over. This event ends when the dinner ends. |
| 5:45 p.m. | All-Alumni Weekend Dinner, Kuyper Fieldhouse. $ All are welcome to this gathering to celebrate Central alumni and award winners. Enjoy good food while visiting with your classmates, other parents and friends. Alumni awards are presented during this event. |
| 7:30 p.m. | Class reunion gatherings. Gather with your classmates to reminisce and catch up! |
