Alumni Awards - Alumni Stewardship and Service Award — Penny Harris Reynen ’71
Penny Harris Reynen of St. Paul, Minn., is this year’s recipient of the Alumni Stewardship and Service Award, due to her exceptional stewardship and service to the college and her demonstration of the spirit of the mission of Central College.
After her 1971 graduation from Central, Reynen went on to receive a master’s degree in adult education and doctoral degree in educational leadership. She taught English for 22 years and has served in a variety of administrative positions since 1993. She currently is the executive director for Athletes Committed to Educating Students.
Reynen has been involved with service to her community and the college for many years, including serving voluntarily as vice president of the board of directors for Vinland National Center, a center for victims of brain and spinal cord injuries. She also is a member of Central’s National Advisory Council and was chairperson for her 20- and 30-year class reunions.
