Anthropology (Cultural)
Are you eager to study indigenous peoples of the world? Curious what creates culture within societies? Anthropology may be the major for you. Central offers three tracks for those interested in anthropology. The general anthropology track is geared for those students who have a broad interest in studying and understanding different cultures around the world. The ethnicity and nationalism track allows students to focus on one of the most important, and least understood, issues of our time. Almost all contemporary states are multiethnic in nature and are often marked by inter-ethnic conflict. Students who choose this track will take courses that will expose them to the analytical tools necessary to understand the complexities of race, ethnicity and nationalism on a global scale. The applied anthropology track provides students the opportunity to develop and refine their research and analytical skills by participating on several research programs and in experiential courses.
