My favorite academic experience was my internship that I completed in a small village outside of Merida. I met once a week with a woman who started a fair trade co-op. By the end of the experience, I had improved my knowledge of life in her small village, her co-op, improved my Spanish speaking abilities, and made a new friendship.

Pre-departure orientation
Central College Abroad will host a pre-departure orientation on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015 for students studying abroad during the Summer and Fall 2015 terms. The orientation generally runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Students and their families are welcome to attend the orientation which covers both general travel information as well as more specific details in individual program sessions. Students unable to attend the orientation may watch the sessions live or view recordings after the event via their online Blackboard account.
