Being able to learn about Mexican history in the morning; read literature by native authors, explore the business world of the country and speak the native language in the afternoon; topping off the day with a lesson in 'Art & Architecture' was an invaluable experience that this program offered to everyone. Throw in an internship at a local manufacturing factory as well as a cooking class here and there and you have a complete week of this student in the Yucatan program - I'm loving every minute!
The U.S. Department of State has issued a travel warning to ensure safe travel in Mexico, pinpointing cities and regions cities in Mexico where unnecessary travel should be avoided. Central College Abroad’s program in Merida, Mexico is located far from these areas. We have no plans to cancel or suspend upcoming programs. We continue to monitor the situation closely as part of our dedication to student safety abroad. Should you have further questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the our Merida, Mexico resident director, Valerie Grimsley at grimsleyv@central.edu.
