Tips
Check with your financial aid office at your institution to see if you can increase your financial aid to cover you during your semester abroad.
Because students sometimes do not meet their full loan potential, there may be some aid available to you.
Pay attention to scholarship deadlines; some will allow you to apply for the scholarship, even if you haven't officially been accepted to the program yet.
Apply, apply, apply! It never hurts to try!
Central College Abroad Scholarships
Once accepted to one of our semester programs, we will provide you with information about applying for our scholarships in your online acceptance packet. There are two scholarships that are available to Central students and two scholarships available to non-Central students. They are as follows:
Vance Scholarship - Central College Abroad is pleased to announce the endowment of a study abroad scholarship for students from cooperating institutions who have been accepted to one of our study abroad programs. There will be no more than one $1000 scholarship recipient named per program site each semester.
Merit Scholarship - This scholarship is available to non-Central students who have achieved a 3.6 GPA or above, have excellent recommendations, and have a high motivation to study abroad.
Principal Scholarship - Central College students with a 2.75 cumulative GPA or higher who will be juniors or seniors while abroad are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
Holthuis Scholarship - Central College students may apply. Should indicate financial need and explain how study abroad will affect your overall academic program.
