Why CCA in Granada?
The CCA program has a long history in Granada – in fact, the program is celebrating its 20th year of study abroad in Granada in November 2006! Granada is a vibrant university town, home to 300,000 residents including more that 50,000 university students. Many Spaniards say it is the perfect Spanish city! The city is dominated by the medieval Moorish palace, the Alhambra, and within an hour you can experience both the beautiful Sierra Nevada Mountains and the pristine white sand beaches of the Mediterranean.
Each of CCA 's international sites has an on-site program director, who is there to advise students during the academic experience, to orient them to the host city, to lead excursions, among many other things. All CCA directors also teach a hands-on seminar, where students learn about the host city and then experience it first-hand. Granada's on-site director, Veronica Garcia Montero, has been the director in Granada since 1999. Veronica's office is the only study abroad office located directly in the Center for Modern Languages, where you will take classes.

All host families provide breakfast, lunch and dinner daily for CCA students, and all host families live within walking distance of the university.
Students returning from Granada will tell you about the added benefits provided through CCA , including small tutoring sessions and a cross-cultural workshop, both of which are included in the program fee. An optional excursion to Morocco is always a highlight of the students' experience on this CCA program.
The CCA center in Granada is located just a few minutes from the Center for Modern Languages (where you take classes). This popular gathering spot for CCA students includes a seminar room, computer lab and lounge. Best of all, you will meet at the CCA center for small-group tutorials that provide language support. CCA adds these private tutoring opportunities to help you successfully interact both in the classroom and in the course of daily life.
