| This literature course provides a concise overview of the versatile literary movements of the 19th and 20th century, covering Realism, Naturalism, Expressionism, pre- and post-war literature ( German artists in the American exile) as well as topics of contemporary literature. Notably the time of World War II and its contradictory political positions and literatures are of great interest for students. Among the authors whose principal works are discussed and partly read are: Storm, Fontane, Hauptmann, Mann, Hesse, Borchert, Bachmann and many more. | |
