| A survey course on the history of Dutch painting from the early 15th century to the present. Emphasis is placed on the 17th century - the age of Rembrandt, Frans Hals and Jan Vermeer – and on later painters such as Vincent van Gogh and Piet Mondrian. The course also includes a component on Dutch architecture. Both art and architecture are studied on site during the weekly field trips to museums in different cities. | |
