Students take classes at the University of Wales, Bangor. Take courses from any department on campus! It's one of the major advantages of studying with Central College Abroad in Wales. The University of Wales, Bangor is one of the few study abroad sites, from any study abroad program, where there are no limitations to what you can study. So whether you're into agriculture or zoology (or anything in between), you can look for courses in your academic area.
Each of CCA 's international sites has an on-site program director, who is there to advise students during the academic experience, to orient them to the host city, to lead excursions, among many other things. All CCA directors also teach a hands-on seminar, where students learn about the host city and then experience it firsthand. Bangor's on-site director, Tecwyn Vaughn Jones, has been the director in Wales since 2000.
With the University of Bangor being a residential university, most students live in the residence halls … and so will you! Live in a village complex where laundry, excellent gym facilities and cafes are found on site. Students live in a single room with a private bath and internet hookup. There are typically eight rooms per flat, and each flat is provided with a kitchen area. Take advantage of the opportunity for genuine integration while cooking alongside Welsh and other international students in the residence halls. If you'd rather go out on the town for a bite, take advantage of the many restaurants and cafes on campus and in the town.
