Equipment

  • Camcorders, digital cameras, microphones, cables, overhead projectors, screens, slide projectors, video and DVD players may be checked out
  • PC and Mac multimedia workstations for use in Media Center only. 
  • Link here to an inventory of audio-visual equipment and supplies  available to students and faculty, as well as information on satellite audio-visual centers which house classroom equipment in academic centers throughout campus.
  • If desired equipment is in use, and other equipment is not conveniently located, call x5218 to have equipment delivered.  Please allow a minimum of 24 hours notice for delivery.
  • If equipment malfunctions, call x5218.  Help will be sent as soon as possible.

Campus Cable

The Media Center manages programming for 3 Central College campus cable television stations: Channel 2 (campus events calendar and announcements), Channel 3 (movies and educational programming) and Channel 52 (SCOLA international news and culture).

ICN

The Media Center manages Central's distance learning classroom. This facility can be used to connect Central College students with over 350 similar classrooms in the state of Iowa via the Iowa Communications Network, a fiber optic network dedicated to promoting educational opportunities in the state. Additional information about the ICN project is available from the Iowa Database at Iowa Public Television.

The Media Center is located in the building east of the library. (See campus map for directions.)

Central College faculty may submit requests to purchase Audio/Visual items. PRINT THE "Audio-Visual Purchase Request" FORM and return it to Rachel Fleming, Library Acquisitions, Campus Box 6500. If you have questions please contact Ms. Fleming at x5221 or e-mail flemingr@central.edu
