How
to connect your Macintosh to the Internet from your residence hall room
- Using a
Cat5 cable, connect your computer to the ethernet jack on the wall. (Do
not attempt to use a telephone or modem cable.)
- From
the Apple menu, pull down to Control Panels
- Select
AppleTalk
- Select
Connect via… Ethernet

- Close
the AppleTalk window and select Save
- From
the Apple menu, pull down to Controls Panels again
- Select
TCP/IP
- Connect
via…Ethernet
- Configuration
is Using DHCP Server
- The DHCP
client ID is your username. The
Search domain is central.edu

- Close
the TCP/IP window and select Save
