Central College

Information Technology Services

The ITS department is responsible for computer, network, and telephone technologies on Central's campus.  The main office is located in Central Hall Room 2 (lower level of Douwstra Auditorium).  The general telephone number is ext. 5289.  The Computer Help Center, located in Maytag, is a special function of ITS which provides end user technical support to students, faculty and staff.

Central's computer network connects all classrooms, labs, offices and student residence hall rooms to shared file servers and to the Internet.  About 90% of students bring their own computer to campus.  Students are licensed to use a free copy of Microsoft Office on their personally owned computer.

Numerous student computer labs distributed around campus provide convenient access to printers and to e-mail, Microsoft Office suite applications, and discipline-specific software.  Each student is provided with an e-mail account and a personal folder on a network file server.  Students are licensed to use a free copy of Microsoft Office on their personally owned computer.
