For Purchasers of Exploring Abstract Algebra with Mathematica
For those of you who have purchased Exploring Abstract Algebra with Mathematica, this page is where one can download updated versions of the labs. Instructors who have adopted this text for an abstract algebra course (or equivalent) have additional resources available: collections of notebooks containing just the exercises (if you wish electronic submission), partial solutions to the exercises, and comments about each lab regarding how to use it and classifying the exercises. Please contact us if you are an instructor and wish access to these materials; you must be able to verify your status in teaching the course and that you have adopted the text.
Before downloading the latest version of the EAAM labs, one must first download the latest version of the AbstractAlgebra packages. To do so, it is first necessary to register as an AbstractAlgebra user. One does so by filling out a form giving some basic information. Please do so now, if you have not already done so. Note: the labs and packages on the CD are fine and are sufficient. The fundamental change is that the new labs have some encoding that make them more accessible within the Help Browser, as well as providing a few corrections.
After having registered as an AbstractAlgebra user, you will be taken to a page to verify that you have purchased the Exploring Abstract Algebra with Mathematica book. At that page, a "cookie" will be set to verify your user status; if you do not have cookies enabled, you will need to do so or contact us to make other arrangements. (A cookie is an innocuous means of us tracking information. Only information that you submit to a particular site can be stored as a cookie; one site can not look at the cookies of other sites. If you are concerned about cookies, one can find a discussion about cookies at one vendor.) After having been verified, you will be taken to the download page. Instructions for downloading and installing the labs can be found there.
