How to utilize AbstractAlgebra
This page itemizes some ways that one can use the AbstractAlgebra package.
- If you have the book Exploring Abstract Algebra with Mathematica (see EAAM above), one can work through the labs found there. One can do this if one is a student in a class with a specific book (see how various books can be cross-referenced to our labs) or one can choose a standard book and work through teaching yourself. (For more information on this route, go to the AlgebraResources site.)
- If you do not have the EAAM book, that does not preclude the use of the AbstractAlgebra package. It can still be downloaded and used if one is willing to spend some time reading the electronic documentation. Simply look in the index (in Mathematica's Help Browser) for the algebraic concept that you wish to explore. It is quite likely to show up (after installing the packages properly) since we tended to use standard terms and also made aliases when several terms are used interchangeably (e.g., FactorGroup and QuotientGroup both do the same thing).
- In either case, you may find it useful to read about other uses of the packages.
