The Goethe Institute program helped us get a grasp on the German language before we came to Vienna. There were students from all over - Brazilian, Chinese, Japanese, Canadian - and everyone still tried to converse in German.

Recent excursions: Cultural sites in Vienna, plus a weekend trip to Prague, Budapest or Graz and a day trip to either the Wachau Valley or Bratislava.

Housing and meals: Austrian residence halls, double rooms and private bath; no meal plan — communal kitchen in the halls for cooking meals, plus restaurants and cafes located on and near campus.

Program dates: Fall semester, late September – late-January. Spring semester, late-February – late June. (These dates do not reflect the one or two-month optional language training sessions at the Goethe Institut prior to the start of the semester.)
