Studying abroad through Central was great. There was so much help available at all times: from the online checklist at the beginning, through all the pre-flight e-mail questions and answers, and all the daily life questions for the resident staff. There was never a time I was left feeling helpless.

housing and meals

Housing
Students live in a beautifully renovated historic building overlooking a typical Dutch canal with other Central College Abroad and international students. This residence hall is located within minutes of the Central College Abroad center and both Webster and Leiden Universities where students can take courses. Living arrangements include:

  • single rooms
  • Internet hookup
  • shared bath and toilet facilities for each floor
  • laundry facilities in the building
  • common room on every floor
  • within 10 minute walking distance from Central College facilities

Meals
While meal plans are not provided, all students have access to a communal kitchen with their own locked cupboard. This is a great opportunity to meet other students and enjoy the camaraderie of the living facility.

Take advantage of shopping for food at the nearby outdoor markets, where you can buy fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, meat and fish, as well as traditional Dutch treats.

The Central College Abroad Center
The CCA center in Leiden is centrally located on the Rapenburg Street. This location is within walking distance of the residence hall, and both Leiden and Webster Universities. This popular gathering spot for CCA students includes a seminar room where CCA classes are taught, a computer lab and lounge. The director's office is also housed here.
