The most significant part of living in China is that you get to actively experience the sheer massiveness that IS China. It's something that you really can't grasp until you live it for yourself. I don't know if I had one moment that changed who I am, but I do know that this trip created a thirst inside of me that won't be satiated until I return to China.
Housing
Students are housed in the Zhejiang University’s International College residence hall, a modern residence hall close to university classrooms. Students live in single or double rooms, each with a full bath and telephone. Common kitchen and laundry facilities are also provided.
Homestay options may also be available for interested students.
Meals
A meal stipend is included in your program fee and can be used at one of the many college cafeterias or in local restaurants. Some students even learn to cook traditional Chinese food in the Central College Abroad center, a creative way to gain further insight into the cultural traditions, and a great skill to take home with you!
The Central College Abroad Center
The CCA center in Hangzhou is located just five minutes walking distance from your residence hall. This popular gathering spot for CCA students includes a kitchen and lounge area. Best of all, you will meet at the center for small-group tutorials that provide language support as you begin rapidly learning and improving your Chinese language skills. Central College Abroad adds these private tutoring opportunities to help you successfully interact both in the classroom and in the course of daily life.
