I took my own personal excursion to a nearby city. I spoke Chinese during the whole trip and made all the arrangements myself. Every single aspect was up to my discretion. Having only studied Mandarin for few months, but being able to make such a large step into the unknown was the most amazing feeling I've ever had.

Hangzhou is the capital of Zhejiang province located in East China, a spot many Chinese consider to be heaven on Earth. The city is surrounded by mountains and near the East China Sea, so students are often amazed at the beauty of this special place.
The West Lake is undoubtedly the most renowned feature of Hangzhou, noted for the scenic beauty that blends naturally with many famous historical and cultural sites. Students often bike or walk around the lake in their free time. Hangzhou has much to offer, from entertainment, to shopping and dining. Numerous teahouses overlook the West Lake and students meet here to chat over a cup of tea.
Students also take advantage of Hangzhou's excellent public transportation whether that be navigating the city or taking a train out of the city to visit Shanghai.
From a cultural perspective, students gain an intimate understanding of the Chinese people and an appreciation for the country and its history. We encourage students to explore beyond the classroom in every way from grocery shopping to undertaking an internship at a local business.
